Modern Eyecare in Underserved West Africa

Medical surgical eyecare has been the cornerstone service of Dr. Cathy and Tom’s mission work.  Each January and June they travel to Serabu to help care for thousands of patients and perform hundreds of eye surgeries. Patients originate from seven different countries to make their way to Serabu where they receive modern eyecare services.

Southern Eye Institute Sponsored Community Development in Serabu, Sierra Leone

While our primary mission remains to restore and improve eyesight, there are numerous other community based actions that also have our support. Water and food programs, education scholarships, sports competitions, computer center and cultural events are all part of this mission campaign.
